About me

I started Filmmaking in my 30's and discovered that storytelling is about connecting  with people. My first large video project was to document the work of Face Africa in Liberia at the end of the Ebola pandemic. Early in 2015, I spent 3 weeks traveling on the back of a SUV with my gear around the western African country. I met with incredible people, discovered what life is like when there is no running water or electricity. All the people I met were exceptional, hard worker, and more than anything, happy. My work helped Face Africa present its work in conferences all around the world, online and contributed to raise awareness and funds so the organization can help more communities. I realized then that storytelling was a passion I wanted to pursue.

Connecting with people during an interview is an intimate moment. It is important to forget about the camera and connect with the subject, establish trust, and invite them to share feelings. Since I started UBR Prod, I had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of people and organizations, producing live event videos, commercials, episodic mini-series for influencers etc. More recently, I started to collaborate with clients on maximizing the return on investment for the video they release. How to make a video release a success, what are the goals one want to achieve by producing and releasing a video are now key elements of the pre-production process.

Since 2015, I take my cameras and lens bag with me on every trip I do. I find the art of making film genuinely beautiful. As a filmmaker, you need to create truthful moments of raw emotion, capture and share them with the audience. I started UBR PROD as a way to create and share many more stories.
